Quality Improvement

(NICAP)
Neuromedicine Clinical and Academic Program
We strive to achieve the perfect patient experience. The Quality Improvement Division on NICAP centers around the five Big Aims of Quality. We have several ongoing initiatives to reach our mission. Our aims encompass efforts towards zero harm, reducing variation, enhancing the patient experience, transforming the culture, and increasing value.
The big aims
Zero Harm
We aim to follow practices that reduce avoidable complications and infections, improve medication safety, and avoid preventable harm.
Reduce Variation
We aim to ensure consistency in care by following evidence-based best practices. We focus on improving performance across nationally recognized process and outcome measures.
Transform Culture
We aim to transform our culture through the application of constructive behaviors and consistent practices to provide patients, clinical providers, and support staff with a positive experience at UF Health.
Increase value
We aim to increase value by focusing on quality over quantity and ensuring that the cost per patient is appropriate. This aim works to minimize reporting burden and costs while prioritizing safety efforts.
Achieve the Perfect Patient Experience
We aim to improve person-centered care by providing clear and supportive patient communication. We ensure that our patients, visitors, and their caregivers are comfortable while visiting UF Health.
